It has been a fresh change for me, arriving in Munchen with a freezing temperature of minus 20 Celsius.  The invincible public transport of Germany is severely tested.  For the past few days, some trains arrived close to an hour late.  There's nothing to start my travel by visiting the castle at Bavaria that inspired Walt Disney to build Disneyworld later.  It's built by the most beloved Bavarian Emperor of …

I traveled South and West of Amman today to The Dead Sea and then back 3000 years at the Citadel where I was able to stand on 3000 years of history from Roman ruins and listen to the call to prayer echo throughout the city.  It literally made me stop in my tracks.  For 5 minutes I was at total peace and I felt goose bumps on my skin and …

And I did eat the lamb brains.  I truly did.  Not all of it, but certainly enough to know I don't really like it.  But as my friend tells me, it isn't that I don't like lamb brains, I just don't appreciate the dish as much as the grilled lamb served at dinner.  Uh huh.  Nice try, Farouk. Today was the last day of meetings here in Amman.  Tomorrow is a …

The Royal Jordanian flight from JFK was only just over 10 hours.  We made up a full hour en route and I slept.  And slept... I've never landed in a sand storm before.  I thought it was fog.  OK...it would have been dirty fog.  And on the way into the city it rained.  Sand.  No water...just sand.  All of this a first for me.  The wind is blowing at least 50-60 …

    1.  Like Beijing (China) Amman is made up of circles or "rings" and it will be easier for people to find you or for you to find a site it you know which circle you're in or going to. 2.  Jordanians are the most awesome people on earth.  Friendly.  Hospitable.  Warm.  Westerners take note:  laugh more and kiss everyone you see 4 times. 3.  Spend time in the "old city."  OK...make sure …

California for me was always about super-friendly people with sunny disposition, someone like Cameron Diaz.  For many years, I only stopped over at multicultural San Francisco, the fake and washed-out Los Angeles but this trip, I went deeper to Sacramento where I caught a quick glance of the Capitol where The Terminator/Grosvenor ran his office. I went past many cities before finally ending up at Truckie (originated from a Native …
