Whirlwind Trip To Europe

I'm headed to London, St. Malo and Paris for back-to-back meetings to start 2011 exactly right with our European partners. It will be tiring, but very rewarding.

  • It always feels good to have all of the tickets and schedules match before I sit down on an airplane.  Quick trip, but a very important one.

Everything is falling into place, finally, for this really quick trip to Europe. Plane and train tickets bought and printed. Hotels reserved. Meeting times set. A lot of work for a 5 or 6 day trip to England and France!

Looks as though I will arrive London on Saturday night.  That means a quick walk up to my favoriet Tapas bar and some great Spanish food and a 1/2 bottle of Muga.  Sunday I'll rest up and probably take in a traditional pub lunch...maybe out in my old haunts in Richmond Upon-Thames.

Meeting with 2 Trustees of the Experiment in International Living in London on Monday and two of the EIL office staff.  EIL represents our Conversation Corps and Conversationn Partner programs in the UK and we're proud to be starting off on our 2nd year with them.

After the meetings on Monday, I'll head to St. Pancras staion to take the EuroStar to Paris.  A quick 2 hour ride to Gare du Nord and then a taxi to Montparnasse and I'll be tucked in bed to prepare for 2 grueling days of meeetings.

Tuesday will start out with a TGV to St. Malo and a walking tour of that great town.  And Wednesday morning we start with meetings with CEI, who place our Conversation Corps tutors in France.  Then it's a 2:50 p.m. train to Paris with 6:30 p.m. arrival.  A quick stop at the hotel and then meeting two more of our partners for a dinner meeting in Paris.  One from Lille, France and the other from Munich, Germany who is flying in special for this meeting.

Then it is a 10:00 a.m. flight back to New York on Thursday morning.

But finally, the plane tickets, train tickets and hotel reservations all match to the schedule and agenda.  I'm set.
